What is endometriosis?

Endometriosis occurs when tissue that is similar to tissue that lines the inside of the uterus, grows outside of the uterus. This tissue commonly forms adhesions to pelvic organs including the bowel, bladder, ureter and kidneys.

Symptoms of endometriosis include:

  • Debilitatingly painful periods

  • Excessive menstrual bleeding

  • Painful intercourse

  • Difficulty with bowel movements and urination

  • Abdominal bloating

  • Infertility

Pelvic floor PT and exercises for endometriosis.

Pelvic floor therapy aims to reduce symptoms associated with endometriosis by targeting muscle tension, joint restrictions and pelvic organ restriction that could be affected by adhesions due to endometriosis.

Pelvic floor therapists provide hand-on manual treatments, individualized exercises and discuss lifestyle modifications in order to reduce flares, manage symptoms and reduce muscle tension.

I was devastated when the doctors only solution was to take a medicine every day at 29 years old! I’m so glad I did my own research and found Vivid. Even after my first two sessions, I already am feeling relief from my symptoms
